The eye takes over the end of the world

write what you seen, what is and what will happen next.
(Rev., 1, 19)

Seeing the pictures tsunami that has engulfed the east coast of Japan, I wondered what will be in a technological society such as ours and voyeuristic eye will be resumed at the end of the world.
Or rather, who will?
Who will be the "preferred" eye lonely will fly over the lands submerged when the oceans are closed on every site and all humanity will be wiped out ?
How will you feel?
And as you will feel the pilots of the helicopters that flew over Japan in the act of the tragedy take place? See the land destroyed, knowing that many people are dying helplessly apocalypse ... There was a car that fled to one of those streets wave in the movie web repubblica.it
It is not clear if and when the wave reaches it, but it is distressing. Who is driving the half-know what's going on? Or is it ignorant? From the landscape is drained of its anthropogenic component of the half but the move is a clear sign of the presence of human life and is not the only one. In another movie you see two cars that seek shelter behind a shed, but who knows what will become of them. The omnipotent eye looks down and then goes away, does not dwell on anything really, you look completely useless.
The pilot flew over the disaster and registers with the camera.
Instant tragedy. We
- voyeurism innocent - in front of huge tragedies are only spectators of ourselves.
How to carry such unnecessary responsibilities?
What we see we are concerned, we can not escape the images once we have stored. Yet we seem insensitive.
I turn off the switch, close the computer, unplug it, and I'm still here. Viva.
I measure myself with everyday problems. Some
reassures me: "Italy can not happen in an earthquake of that intensity." Obvious. But what changes? In Italy we all fell for much less intensity. And then, of course, what changes?
always gives me a huge annoyance when faced with any catastrophe newspapers publish Titles such as "involved no Italian." What will change?
I'm not sure if so much media noise behind the tragedy is due to the common sentiment: Compassion Fear discomfort or pain is more a kind of morbid curiosity that catalyzes all the pettiness of the human being is pleased to be among the victims, but not looking at the victim experiences the tragedy in a protected atmosphere. Catharsis
media?
Japanese brother I see you shiver and die, sink and I get rid of the fear I feel every day ...
Every day the tragedy is imminent magnetic waves through us on all sides, organized crime operates the toxic waste, terrorism is lurking, the order audience is constantly torn between revolutionaries and tyrants, the means of locomotion can become death traps, viruses unpronounceable names appear / disappear without their knowing the reason ... medical science is in utter chaos in front of dermatitis, allergies atypical atopic asymptomatic ... and the nature ... well the nature rebels! There are no more between seasons! The weather is changing! The glaciers are melting! Frogs are dying! Ozone is piercing! The earth is shaking ...
..................
I think of a line of Rilke's Duino Elegies that so moved me:

And we: spectators always, everywhere
always turned to everything outdoors.

and now it seems less sweet.
I recall well the pilot who dropped the bomb on Hiroshima (clear, the analogy is obvious), I wonder if he looked down and drop the bomb? They say he died a few years after radiation. But what we know of his guilt? I have eaten? And the guilt of each of us survivors?
After September 11, I felt disoriented. I looked at the horizon and I seemed hostile. I was afraid for my children especially. Even today. All that nonsense on national-popular end of the world in 2012, and then you never speak openly of the trouble that surrounds the planet, and not for oceanic plates and not for the changes, slow and inexorable, the earth's crust, but for overcrowding, for pollution damage, for the hyper-production of all but especially of waste.
..................................
We do not know if it will be someone there to attend the end of the world, of course, will happen if we imagine that fear and will not be a cathartic vision.
What I hope, now more than ever, is that in front of the immense tragedy of Japan, as before any tragedy now in progress, none of us are still just watching. Looking back and to no avail. And there is no point in being sick, pity. We need to change. Radically changing lifestyle, stop us so important. Learning to live together without devastating the planet. Learn a lot. Observe everything. Take care.
practice as simple as knowing the cycle of seasons. Knowing that the water that comes from a tap is not obvious but is part of the natural cycle. Understand some of the vegetables. Of production of the clothes we wear, and by whom and for what salary ... Be curious about everything. Reflecting on everything.
not take anything for granted ...
